AARP is accepting nominations for its 2023 Ohio Andrus Award for Community Service, honoring more than 50 Ohioans sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich the lives of those in their community.
Nominations will be evaluated based on how the volunteer’s work has impacted the community, reflected AARP’s mission and inspired others.
“AARP Ohio is excited to shine a light on 50+ Ohioans who are using what they’ve learned in life to make a difference in the lives around them,” Holly Holtzen, state director, said in a news release.
Nominees must be 50 years or older and their service must have been performed on a volunteer basis, without pay, replicable and inspirational, the release said. Previous award recipients, AARP staff members and those serving on the selection committee are not eligible. Nominations are due by July 15.
