Laila Salehi, daughter of Assadullah was born on April 27th, 1982 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Due to security considerations, Laila and her family had to leave the country toward Pakistan and left there for more than 7 years. Based on her artistic talent, passion, and interest in drawing and painting, she started to paint and drawing without any guider or trainer in order to create entertainment and passing her spare time.
Since 2001, she returned to Afghanistan and continued her education besides following fine art including drawing and painting. Later on, she was appointed as a drawing teacher at Abul Qasem Ferdowsi high school where she was graduated. In addition to teaching, she successfully completed her higher education in the field of language and literature.
Up to date, she portrayed numerous of artworks including portraits of Kings, queens, presidents, world leaders, famous people, scientist, athletes, world wonders, holy places, historical places of the world, culture, nature, and women right, and other related instances that mostly covers the entire world from a different perspective.
She has organized several painting exhibitions at a national level in order to illustrate the problems of society particularly human and women's rights through painting and appreciate those who have served their lives for humanity and different perspective of society.
At her last exhibition, she donated her 50 oil color paintings of poets to Abul Qasem Ferdowsi high school of Ministry of Education, In order to honor and Appreciate all-around activities in the field of art and literature of Afghanistan's history poets. - 2nd fine art exhibition at the Afghan Civil Society organization, Kabul- Afghanistan, 2005.
- 3rd fine art exhibition at Afghanistan national gallery, Kabul- Afghanistan, 2017.
- 4th fine art exhibition at Abdul Qasem Ferdowsi high school, Kabul- Afghanistan, 2020.
