STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Economic Development Corporation will recognize the contributions of one exceptional female executive at its annual awards gala on Aug. 3 and is now seeking nominations for those deserving of the honor.
The 2023 Executive Woman of the Year Award, now in its 10th year, will be presented to a woman who embodies the core values of professionalism, desire to encourage the advancement of women in industry, and contribution to the greater business community.
“For the past 10 years the SIEDC has been naming an Executive Woman of the Year as a way of spotlighting the outstanding contributions of female business leaders,” said Michael Cusick, SIEDC president and CEO. “She will be recognized for her efforts on behalf of women, as well as her efforts on behalf of the entire business community and, by extension, the entirety of Staten Island.”
The award will be presented at the SIEDC’s Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Angelina’s Ristorante, Tompkinsville. The criteria for nomination are as follows:
- The nominee must work on Staten Island; residency is not required.
- The nominee must be employed at a public or private company, non-profit organization or government agency, holding an executive-level position.
- The nominee must have a demonstrable record of promoting the advancement of women in business.
- The nominee must have a demonstrable record of contribution to the Staten Island business community and economic vitality of the borough.
Extra consideration will be given to a woman who has made a significant economic contribution in the past year. Nominations submitted through the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WomanoftheYear2023 will be accepted through June 30.
