Texas African American Museum presents Tyler native Lina Wade with music award – KLTV

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – Linda Wade has been honored with the 2024 Arthur “Dooley” Wilson African American Music Month Award. She was raised in Tyler and competed in singing competitions as a student before attending Howard University and earning a record deal. Her signature vocal style is described as a mixture of swing, R&B and jazz mixed with hip hop and modern-day soul.

The Empowerment Community Development Corporation and the Texas African American Museum will be celebrating African American Music Achievement Month with a musical concert on June 29 at The Kingdom Church, 1818 N. Confederate Avenue, in the North Tyler Historical Cultural Arts District. The concert will feature artists from the East Texas area.
