Tigirlily Gold wins first ever Academy of Country Music award – KFYR

FRISCO, Texas (KFYR/KMOT) – North Dakota’s Tigirlily Gold has won its first Academy of Country Music award.

The ACM shared on Facebook Tuesday night that the Hazen natives won New Duo or Group of the Year.

Tigirlily Gold posted the following message on their Facebook page:

“We just won our first ACM AWARD!!! This is 11 years of long days, short nights, ups and downs, and never giving up. Thank you to the @acmawards for this incredible honor. We are absolutely beside ourselves. More to come later…”

The duo was one of three nominees in the category. The ACM Awards ceremony is Thursday, May 16.

They are also releasing their first album July 26.
