Shayanti was born and raised in California and has learned Hindustani Classical Music for 12 years. She received her Sangeet Visharad (bachelor's degree in vocal music) when she was 19 years old. She currently sings across America, with a band and solo performances, and enjoys experimenting in all genres. She speaks Bengali as her roots are in West Bengal, but she enjoys blending her American background with her Indian roots in music! She is currently in the process of writing new music and hopes that they will inspire young generations who aspire to be musicians. Her favorite genres include classical, jazz, western pop, Spanish songs, and Bollywood semi classical songs. She has opened the stage for celebrities like Sara Ali Khan, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, Guru Randhawa, Sudesh Bhosle, and has shared the stage with her musical idol Usha Uthup when she was 8 years old.

Aside from music, her professional background focuses on data analytics and software development. She also teaches music on the side to students of all ages and backgrounds and she is thinking about pursuing a teaching degree. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, watching soccer, playing ping pong, planning trips with friends and visiting new cities and countries. But more than anything, she enjoys singing and spends 2 hours every other day dedicated to music.
