WASHINGTON — The 36th Annual Wammie Music Awards show is returning to Capital One Hall, in Tysons, Virginia, on Saturday April 20.
Music fans all across the DMV cast over 32,000 votes for 1200 individual nominations across 51 music categories. The event will feature 10 live performances and a presentation for each category.

This year’s honorees include Dan Spears, Vice President of Industry Relations at BMI; Natalie Hopkinson, author, educator, and social justice advocate behind Don’t Mute DC; Paul Reed Smith, Founder of PRS Guitars; and the late Dr. Sandra Butler-Truesdale, trusted music educator, mentor and Founder of DC Legendary Musicians Inc.; and Stephen Parker, Executive Director of NIVA. In addition, the coveted DCPS Music Educator of the Year Award will be presented to Sandra Granobles while The Hitmaker of the Year Award will go to international artist, Anees.
The 2024 Wammie Music Awards is hosted by WUSA9 with support from iHeartMedia. Evening News Anchor, Lorenzo Hall will be live from the red carpet ahead of the awards show. Get Up DC morning anchors Allison Seymour and Wisdom Martin will host the award ceremony live starting at 7 p.m.
