The city of Goodyear’s Digital Communications team received its first Golden Post Award for Best Social Media Customer Service at the annual Government Social Media Conference on Wednesday, April 17.
This award recognizes the team as leaders in providing exceptional digital engagement and customer service on its social media pages within the government sector.
With nearly 450 entries submitted for the 2024 awards, Goodyear stands out as the sole agency from Arizona to win an award, underscoring the team’s commitment to excellence and innovation in digital communications.
The team’s achievement is highlighted by its responsiveness to residents’ inquiries and feedback on the city’s primary social media platforms.
On average, the team addresses approximately 2,400 comments each month. In recent years, the department has shifted its strategy to be more customer-service-focused, especially in the digital space. Each day, the team works quickly to find answers to online questions on just about any topic involving the city of Goodyear.
In 2023, the team received 29,375 comments and responded to 99.9% of those comments that required a response, with an average response time of 4 hours and 22 minutes. This level of responsiveness highlights the team’s commitment to ensuring that its followers feel heard and valued.
