The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra will host an award ceremony and dinner to honor long-term THSO-supporter and multiyear THSO president Bob Brown.

Brown will be presented the organization’s Gift of Music Award on May 19 at Terre Haute Country Club. The evening begins with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 5 p.m. A gourment three-course meal follows, as does a musical performance by principal harp Melanie Mashner at 6 p.m.

The THSO said Brown has been a dedicated and generous supporter of many organizations and causes in Terre Haute for decades. A business executive and entrepreneur, he is co-owner of the Rex baseball team.

Reservations are $100 per person or $750 for a table of 8. Reservations can be made by calling the THSO office at 812-242-8476, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or online at thso.org.

Patrons will have a choice of filet mignon, orange honey glazed salmon or eggplant parmesan. All entrees are served with green beans amandine and pomme dauphinois (scalloped potatoes with Lorraine Swiss). Dessert will include assorted mousse parfaits. Reservations close May 10.
